Michael P. Wolfe

Mr. Wolfe is an executive level manager, project manager, and consultant over a 30 year career in supply chain management, manufacturing operations, distribution, resource planning and strategic planning. As an experienced leader and facilitator, Mr. Wolfe specializes in the effective alignment of business planning, resources and business processes, often working as a mentor and liaison between functional areas to ensure the effective deployment of improved processes and technology to support business needs. He has been consistently successful at the implementation of change within business settings.

Over the last several years, he has worked successfully in turn around and sale situations involving both private equity investment and major publicly traded companies.  In this role, he has both helped to successfully position a distribution business for sale and managed the acquired businesses thru the integration process.  He has directed both consolidation and relocation efforts.  He recently managed the development and start up of a “green field” 200,000 sq ft Regional Distribution Center for the New England area.

Mr. Wolfe has successfully completed major projects including:  full MRP/ERP implementations in several manufacturing environments; start up and/or relocation of full-scale manufacturing operations; development and deployment of large-scale distribution and warehousing operations.  He has participated in extensive business process analysis and process reengineering efforts with major corporations in the US. and Europe. In these project capacities, and as a senior operations manager, Mr. Wolfe has produced results on a dramatic scale including radical compression of standard project time lines by 50%, multi-million dollar inventory reductions, and reductions in customer order-to-ship cycle times of 80%.

His successful approach is noteworthy for its balanced emphasis on both structured management techniques, and the human issues of dealing with change. Areas of specific expertise include rigorous project definition and task/time management, business process analysis and process re-definition utilizing fundamental Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing techniques, and team development targeted toward consensus and achievement. Mr. Wolfe has conducted extensive training classes and workshops in a variety of operations, manufacturing and business-related topics, as well as group facilitation.

Education and Professional Involvement

Mr. Wolfe holds a BA from Hobart College and has done post-graduate work at the State University of New York at Albany. His career began in production and inventory control and progressed to senior management positions in manufacturing operations, marketing, and distribution.
